Activities and Events

Throughout the year, our pupils enjoy a wide range of exciting activities and memorable experiences, both in and beyond the classroom.

Our youngest children in Bumblebee Class (Reception and Year 1) take part in weekly Wellie Walks, exploring the local village and linking their outdoor adventures to their learning in school.

The festive season is always a highlight, with a wonderful Christmas lunch filled with crackers, carols and laughter, as well as our much-loved annual pantomime trip. We also host Share Days, where parents, carers and family members join us in school to take part in creative activities alongside the children.

In the Autumn Term, our Year 6 pupils visit Hilltop for an exciting residential experience. Here, they take part in a range of outdoor activities and have the opportunity to meet children from other local schools, helping to build friendships ahead of their transition to Hartismere High School.

The Spring Term brings a wealth of enrichment opportunities, including visits from specialist visitors who bring topics such as Vikings and Mayans to life. During Science Week, pupils take part in hands-on experiments, and we welcome ‘Hands on Science’ to deliver engaging workshops, from fingerprint analysis to rocket demonstrations.

In the Summer Term, educational trips continue to inspire our pupils. Key Stage 2 visit Warner Bros. Studios to explore the magic behind the Harry Potter films, while Key Stage 1 enjoy a theatre trip to see The Gruffalo brought to life on stage in Bury St Edmunds.

These experiences help to enrich our curriculum, create lasting memories, and inspire a love of learning in all of our children.
